Debswana’s Human Resources Department is currently extending collaborative support to the Financial Intelligence Agency (FIA) by aiding the Agency’s strategy development efforts.
The FIA seeks to set strategic priorities to strengthen its role as a key agency in combating financial crimes, especially money laundering, by overseeing the management of financial information related to suspicious transactions.
This collaboration aims to strengthen Botswana’s financial system’s integrity and stability. The project team, led by Machel Sekwakwa and Lesedi Halahala, is providing expertise in project and change management, alongside support from Ndiye Mahube and Kutlo Senne for coordination and legal matters. Following a three-day workshop for strategy development, they will continue guiding FIA toward establishing a clear three-year strategic plan. During the workshop, Executive Head of Human Resources, Matlhogonolo Mponang, underscored the participants’ responsibility to support the greater good of Botswana, while FIA Director General, Bopelokgale Soko, expressed gratitude for Debswana’s partnership in this initiative.
