What the goal entails
This goal consolidates and aligns Enterprise and Supplier Development initiatives (e.g. CEEP and Tokafala), the Socio-Economic Development (SED) Strategy, Collaborative Regional Development (CRD) and relevant programmes into a single jobs-focused agenda.
The approach prioritises sectors and enterprises that remain viable beyond mine closure – such as tourism, agriculture, manufacturing and IT – while embedding inclusion and citizen economic empowerment criteria into programme design.
Contribution to Ya Masa Strategy
Sustainable and diversified jobs will be accelerated by strengthening strategic public-private partnerships and collaborations, thereby saving costs for Debswana on OPEX.
