Jwaneng Mine recently hosted its first engagement with business partners at Albert Milton Hall. The session was led by the Jwaneng Mine General Manager, Mr. Goitseone Gadifele, who used the platform to share the new business strategy and its key areas of focus.
Opening the engagement, the Senior Supply Chain Manager, Ms. Ponatshego Bobeng, welcomed business partners and thanked them for their continued support and collaboration with Debswana. She encouraged open engagement and invited partners to work closely with the business in identifying opportunities that will help advance Debswana’s mandate, particularly as the organisation navigates current economic pressures.
Mr. Gadifele explained the intent of the engagement, noting that the new strategy represents a shift in how the business operates. He shared that following the organisational structure review, it has impacted various areas of the business, requiring changes to established ways of working. He emphasised the importance of engaging business partners during this transition, stating that collaboration remains key as Debswana reshapes the business and charts a way forward together.
He also commended business partners for their contribution to achieving zero harm and encouraged everyone to sustain this positive safety performance.
Business partners actively participated in the engagement. Mr Thotheletso Modise from ACC Botswana encouraged fellow partners to collaborate closely and continue supporting Jwaneng Mine through unity and shared commitment. In closing, Mr Thabo Simon from Botswana Oil delivered the vote of thanks, expressing sincere appreciation to Jwaneng Mine for the engagement and for its openness in sharing the new strategy and overall organisational direction
